Meet Our Team

Owner / Operator
Kevin Northcutt
Born and raised in Bluff Dale, TX, Kevin is a lifer here in Erath County. Having grown up on a dairy offered many lessons in discipline, hard work, and produced in him a character you can trust in. Kevin began framing homes with his brothers at age 14 and purchased his brother's business at age 22.
With over 20 years construction experience and thousands of projects under his belt, Kevin created Southern Oak Custom Homes fall of 2023 out of a desire to offer homeowners a better build experience from start to finish.
In his spare time Kevin enjoys hosting his family for big barbecues and watching movies. He jokes that it usually takes him three-to-four nights to finish a movie because he often falls asleep 30 minutes after sitting down.

Administration Coordinator
Hayley Northcutt
Hayley grew up in Hudson Oaks, TX and graduated from Tarleton State University in 2011. She majored in political science with ambition to become a lawyer and work in politics. Throughout her high school and college years she was able to work for a local judge and took an internship in the state capitol building note taking legislative sessions for absentee parties.
All plans changed after Hayley and Kevin met in 2009. They married in 2012 and today have three boys. Together they have built a successful framing business that employs 40+ men and are now excited to launch Southern Oak Custom Homes.
Hayley says her greatest joy is to serve her husband, attempt to raise her three boys to become great men, and to provide them all a home that they enjoy coming home to. No matter what Hayley does, she gives 100% effort!

Project Manager
Andres Betancur
Andres arrived in Stephenville in 2005 to run cross-country at Tarleton State University. He worked in a cabinet & countertop shop as well as several other construction and carpentry jobs to help pay his way through school. After graduating with a degree in Spanish and minors in English & Philosophy, Andres spent 14 years as a public school teacher.
Remodeling his own homes and completing projects as a weekend-warrior furthered his desire to work in construction and build homes. Andres jumped when presented with the opportunity to work for Southern Oak Custom Homes and will bring a tireless fire to your project and future home.
In his spare time Andres enjoys endurance sports and fitness. He is a Boston Marathon qualifier as well as an Ironman finisher. When not at home Andres can often be found coaching his sons’ soccer teams.

Draftsman & Design Consultant
Lauren Betancur
Lauren Betancur (wife of Andres) grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in architecture in 2008. In the face of financial recession and limited opportunities out of college Lauren became a serial entrepreneur and has built several different businesses over the past 20 years.
Graphic designer, web designer, and painter are just a few hats she has worn over the years. At Southern Oak Custom Homes Lauren provides a great service to customers needing help turning their ideas and desires into tangible blueprints. She brings ease and efficiency to the design process and ensures that projects can get off the ground quickly.
In her spare time Lauren enjoys naps... especially naps high in the mountains during backpacking adventures. She and Andres have two boys, Elías & Samuel, and together they love to take long road trips.

Videographer & Photographer
John Purget
John is another graduate from Tarleton State University enjoying a career as an IT specialist. He joined our team and handles all of our videography and photography needs.
The more videos and photos that we can take during the build process, the better we can communicate with our customers. We love building and want to show "behind the curtain" how your home is being built. We are proud of our work and desire to present it to the world.
In his spare time John enjoys music and playing his guitar. He is quite the coffee connoisseur and is always ready to pull a fresh shot of espresso to sip with friends... especially if you want to talk about German cars and F1 racing!
